Virology AKTive Space  is an integrated Semantic Web application which provides a way to explore the UK Virology Research domain. This project was aimed at generalizing the concept of AKTive Space and creating an AKTive Space for Viruses. Craig Mckenzie's cut down version of the AKT Reference (portal) ontology was used for this project. The Viruses taxonomy from the NCBI was integrated into the ontology. Keyword matching was done on the RAE data from hyphen.info, to identify the experts. Once the ontology was populated, the user interface for the CS AKtive Space was reused.
