GEODISE is one of a new breed of EPSRC funded research programmes
involving multi disciplinary teams working to build a state of the art
design tool demonstrator. The GEODISE demonstrator is intended to carry
out engineering design search and optimisation involving fluid dynamics,
and is bringing together the collective skills of engineers and computer
scientists. With potential applications in Aerospace the industrial
partners on this project include BAE Systems and Rolls Royce. Fluent, one
of the world's leading developers of computational fluid dynamics
software are also involved in the project, as are a number of leading
information technology suppliers, Intel (hardware), Microsoft (software),
Compusys (systems integration), Epistemics (knowledge technologies), and
Condor (grid-middleware). The academic partners on the project bring
together some renowned academics from the Universities of Southampton,
Oxford and Manchester in a range of specialisms.
